RESILIENCE AND GROWTH: A LOOK BACK AT UNITED COUNTRY IN THE 1930S

As we celebrate 100 years of United Country Real Estate, we’re reflecting on the moments that shaped our history.

In 1934, founder Roscoe Chamberlain wrote:

"The depression has brought to quick realization the fact that Mother Earth takes care of her own, and that the man who produces from the soil sustenance for the good health and happiness of his family is still the most independent man in the world."

Many took these words to heart, purchasing farmland at bargain prices during the 1930s. During this period, United Country grew to over 50 offices, and our groundbreaking real estate catalog expanded to national distribution, setting the stage for continued growth.

Chamberlain’s vision of connecting buyers and sellers across the country endures today, proving that real estate—especially rural land—remains a timeless investment.
